I created a personal motion design project in the form of a short advertisement for Uber, developed for my portfolio. The aim of the piece was to communicate how quick, easy, and convenient the service is through engaging and visually driven storytelling. The animation incorporates a range of techniques including 3D camera movement, shape morphing, dynamic text animation, and sound design to enhance clarity and impact. By combining smooth transitions with purposeful motion, the project highlights key user benefits while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic consistent with contemporary SaaS-style advertising.

To support the development of the animation, I created a storyboard that maps out the visual flow of each scene. The storyboard illustrates how scenes connect with one another, and how text and motion work together to communicate information clearly. By planning composition, pacing, and visual hierarchy in advance, the storyboard ensured the final animation would feel cohesive, engaging, and easy to follow.

For the opening scene i created a modern text message animation which incorporate subtle movements. To enhance visual interest, I incorporated a 3D camera, adding gentle movement and depth that brings the scene to life without overwhelming the content. This combination of minimal text animation and controlled camera motion helps create an engaging and professional introduction to the advert.

A large portion of my motion design project highlights Uber’s simplicity through the use of shape morphing. Different graphic elements smoothly transform into one another, creating clean and seamless transitions. This approach helps the animation feel fluid and easy to follow, reflecting how effortless it is to use Uber. The consistent, flowing movement reinforces the idea of a smooth and straightforward journey from start to finish.
